Artist Questionnaire and Response

I created a questionnaire for the artist of the song to answer. This was to get her opinions of the music video and any suggestions for improvements. 

1)    Do you believe that your song and yourself have been portrayed successfully in this music video?

In what way?

Yes, as it captured the essence of the story that my song was trying to portray. However, I do feel that in my part I could have done better to portray some of the strong emotions that the song had.

2)    Do you feel that the narrative of the song has been successfully portrayed within this music video?

Why?

Yes, as it showed a beginning, middle and an end for the song. It made the song come to life, although it could be developed more maybe through using another character to portray the part of the song where I talk about the changes within the guy’s characteristics.

3)    Are you happy with the outcome of this music video?

In what way?

Yes, I am in the way which it did portray the song quite well. However, my own portrayal of the song could be improved as I failed to show the strong emotions that the song needed. Other than that, I am happy that the music video came out the way it is. Although, a little improvement done on the actual audio could be good too.

4)    Do you feel that the location chosen is suitable for the song?

It is a peaceful, quiet location and it does have that romantic vibe from it as well.

5)    Do you feel the different shots used flow together well?

The use of different shots flow in some parts of the song	However, I did feel that there were some jumpy parts where I feel like the transitions maybe could be improved.

6)    Are you pleased with the different shot types used within this music video?

In what way?

Yes, I was as it did portray the different nature of some parts of the song. For instance, in the parts of the song that suggests that I may be feeling weak the use of a high angle really did portray that.

The majority of the participants are female, this fits into the target audience of the artist. 

 

The age range also fits into the target audience of the artist. 

These results were hoped for, as people are able to identify the genre of the song. 

This response shows that 100% of the participants who answered this question feel that the different shots flow together making the music video seem complete. 

90% of participants believing that the location was suitable for this music video means that the location was able to portray the atmosphere of the song.  

From the comments of the participants to this question the music video was successful in portraying the mood of the song. This was done through the editing and location. 

 

From the comments by the participants who answered the questionnaire 90% enjoyed the music video. The reasons include the use of close ups to show the emotions of the artist and the long shots to emphasis that the artist is alone.
