Audience
The primary
target audience is females aged 14 to 24. This age group would be interested in
the songs, as they would be able to relate to them and the artist. The primary
target audience is females as they are more likely to be able to relate to the
artist, as she is also female. The audience may see her as an icon and be influenced
by her. The social demographics they’d belong to are B or C1; middle class and
lower middle class. The primary target audience may have hobbies and interests
in: music, fashion or magazines. These interests and hobbies may suggest that
they are mainstream following the popular trends. Some of the magazines they
may read are ‘Q’ and also ‘NME’. These are popular magazines that are up to
date in the music industry.
The secondary
target audience is males aged 14 to 22 with a similar social demographic of C1.
The age range is similar to the primary target audience; this age range is
likely to listen to the charts and new music. The hobbies and interests of the
secondary target audience could also be music. From their interest in music
they may also read ‘NME’ and ‘Q’.
Social Demographics
A – Upper Class (Higher managerial, administrative and professional, such as Mangers, Lawyers, all high paying jobs earning demographic would be around £50,000 and over)
B – Middle Class (Intermediate managerial, administrative or professional, such as deputy secretary and or above average pay, earning demographic would be around £35-50,000)
C1 – Lower Middle class (Supervisory or Clerical, junior managerial, administrative, such as a supervisor or highly skilled working job (one where more than one skill is required))
C2 – Skilled working class (Skilled Manuel workers, such as mechanics, etc.)
Please note for C1 and C2 the earning range is for both £15,000 – 25,000
D – Lower working class (Semi and unskilled Manuel workers, such as mechanical trainees, or shop workers, earning demographic would be around £7,000 – 15,000)
